PUNGGOL VILLAGE WALKING TOUR
Sat, 31st Jan 2026
9am to 11.30am

Once upon a time, “Punggol” refers to that long beautiful lonely road that leads to the seafood epicentre. To most baby boomers, “Punggol” had only one attraction – SEAFOOD.

No one paid any “scant” attention to the history, heritage or culture. From attap huts to “sar lee chu” (zinc roof house), to the current modern Digital Punggol, most of us have almost forgotten that not too long ago, Punggol was once a kampung complete with pig, poultry and veggie farming.

Nobody bothered about that famous “Matilda House”. In fact, there were also some forgotten and abandoned colonial houses that nobody bothered to document about.

Come with me, and we’ll reminisce and try to find that long lost beautiful country road that we once knew.

We meet at Punggol MRT station, 9am on the 31st Jan 2026, Saturday. Take the escalator up to Exit C and meet me next to the UOB teller machine.

We’ll decide if we will include Coney Island, after Uncle Chris has done the research, recce and dry run. And of course, there is no point telling you that Punggol is now a modern riverfront, digital community….
