KEONG SAIK, JAPANESE STREET & FLANDERS SQUARE RED-LIGHT DISTRICT WALK
Sat, 14th Oct 2023
9am to 1pm

This is an intensive update on the current sex industry and sex tourism in Singapore. More importantly, it is also a look at the marginalized folks in this profession.

There are really two sides to this story – the professional sex worker, versus the illiterate street walker. Today, we’ll take an in-depth look into both the professional sex worker – and those who are still staking it out the good old-fashioned way.

Find out how the first shipload of sex workers arrived in Singapore (aeons ago) – to the current day digital sex industry. On the way, we’ll revisit some brothels that have given up, and also a peek into some of those that are just re-opening.

Flanders Square/Petain Road (Kin Chio Kar) has just recently re-opened some of the brothels. The onus is on you to make a real visit to a real brothel without guilt – by coming with ole Uncle Chris on this very innocent walking tour. This is also an opportunity for the ladies to experience first-hand how and what the life of a sex worker is like at “Kin Chio Kar”.

This is a fairly long walking tour, starting at Keong Saik Road and ending at Flanders Square. Please consider responsibly before signing up. This is also an adult tour and is not suitable for children. Meet me at the coffee shop at the junction of Neil Road and Keong Saik Road. Bring your MRT card as we’ll be taking the train to Farrer Park station.

We meet at 9am, and we hope to be done by 1pm, maybe 1.30pm. Note – I repeat – this is a fairly long walking tour. I’ll be doing my lunch at 22 Flanders Square today. It is now a Japanese restaurant. Coco Ng, an “ang pai” sex worker was killed here back in 2008 – the case is still open. Someone put a knife into her chest, and he is still on the run…
