This evening walk is designed for those short on time – or for anyone curious to explore Singapore’s most talked-about district after dark. Though a little shorter than the full-length version, this tour still packs in plenty of insights, stories, and surprises.

We’ll trace the colourful stretch from Lorong 12 to Lorong 18, a part of Geylang that has long carried a reputation for its nightlife, intrigue, and secrets. While the narration will be slightly compressed, the experience will be no less eye-opening. Expect candid discussions, vivid anecdotes, and a walk that shines a light on one of the most misunderstood areas in Singapore.

Your ole Uncle Chris will be your guide through this lively and complex neighbourhood, offering a deeper understanding of its social realities – from its working girls and “high-class scandals” to the unseen networks and unspoken rules that shape Geylang’s unique character. You’ll learn about the real distinctions between vice and survival, myth and truth, and hear how this district continues to evolve in modern Singapore.

This is not a walk for the faint-hearted. The stories are raw, the details unfiltered, and the language at times explicit. But beneath the surface of neon lights and late-night bustle lies a fascinating story of human resilience, adaptation, and community.

The walk will end by 9.30pm (or at the latest 10pm), giving participants the chance to explore further on their own, or to make their way easily to Aljunied MRT Station for the journey home.
