We’ll meet at 7.00pm in the lobby of Golden Landmark Hotel (nearest MRT: Bugis), before setting off on an evening walk that goes far beyond the usual tourist trail of Arab Street and Haji Lane. This is not your typical Kampong Glam tour – it’s a bold, atmospheric adventure through back lanes and forgotten corners where history, intrigue and legend come alive.

Once a royal enclave for Malay sultans and their followers, Kampong Glam later became a bustling centre for traders, seafarers and storytellers from across the Arab world. Behind its shophouse façades and vibrant street art lie tales of passion, betrayal and survival. On this walk, you’ll hear stories of secret meetings, forbidden love, and the darker side of life in this historic quarter – where justice was swift and mercy, rare.

If time permits, we’ll also dip into the enchanting world of Middle Eastern folklore. From the One Thousand and One Nights to familiar tales like Sinbad the Sailor and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, you’ll be transported to an era of sultans, deserts and daring adventures – all retold with a touch of Arabian allure.

Depending on the group, the tone can be adjusted for a children’s version or a more adult-themed storytelling session. Either way, expect an immersive evening rich in history, culture and atmosphere.

Our walk will end at Bussorah Mall, right in the heart of Kampong Glam. Here, surrounded by the glow of cafés, shops and music, we’ll soak in the district’s vibrant energy – a fitting finale to a night of discovery and storytelling.
