SINGAPORE CITY TOUR
Sun, 25th May 2025
9am to 11.30am

Join us for an unforgettable walking tour through the heart of Singapore, where you will tread upon land that was once submerged beneath the sea. This unique experience offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich tapestry of Singapore’s history, as we explore the transformation of this vibrant city from the early 1800s to the present day.

Led by your knowledgeable guide, Uncle Chris, you will uncover the stories and secrets of Singapore’s past. Our journey begins at the intriguing site of ‘Scandal Point’, a location that has long since vanished, its remnants repurposed as landfill for the surrounding areas. Once a prominent hill, Scandal Point invites us to reimagine the bustling Satay Club, a symbol of simpler times.

As we continue, we will delve into the true origins of Singapore, tracing back to 6th Feb 1819. While Sir Stamford Raffles and William Farquhar are often credited with placing Singapore on the global map, we must acknowledge the rich heritage of the indigenous Orang Lauts and Malays who inhabited this land long before.

Our meeting point is at Toastbox, located on the ground floor of The Esplanade, Theatres on the Bay. The nearest MRT station is Esplanade, with convenient access via Citylink from City Hall MRT.

The tour will conclude at Telok Ayer Street, a historic landing site for many of our ancestors, who arrived with little more than hope and determination.

Don’t miss this opportunity to walk through history and witness the evolution of Singapore. We look forward to sharing this remarkable journey with you!
